Who we are
Fireside Weekly publishes weekly printable activity packs for UK care homes. In this document, “we” means Fireside Weekly.
For anything about your data, email team@firesideweekly.com.
What we collect
- When you ask for the sample or reserve a place: your name, role, care home name, work email, and, if you choose to give them, your town and what you use for activity ideas now.
- When you subscribe: the details above, plus billing details. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card number.
- When you email us: your message and email address.
Please don’t send us information about residents. The activity record in each pack is for your home’s own files.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| What we do | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Send you the sample you asked for, and one email afterwards asking what you thought | Legitimate interests: you asked for the sample, and your feedback helps us improve it |
| Email you a preview of each new issue, if you ticked the box | Consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Deliver your subscription and send invoices | Contract |
| Keep business and tax records | Legal obligation |
Every email we send has a way to unsubscribe. We never sell your details or share them for anyone else’s marketing.
Who helps us
We use a small number of trusted services to run Fireside Weekly. They process data only on our instructions:
- Netlify, which hosts this website, and Web3Forms, which receives the sample form and passes it to our email
- Google, for our email account
- An email delivery service, to send the weekly pack
- A payment provider, to take card payments
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the ICO’s international data transfer agreement.
How long we keep it
- Sample requests: up to two years after we last heard from you, unless you subscribe or ask us to delete them sooner.
- Subscribers: for as long as you subscribe, then for as long as tax law requires us to keep business records (usually six years).
